Your host and author, Tim Minneci, currently resides in the 'burbs of Columbus, Ohio. His obsession with music can be traced back to his formative years in the 'burbs of Buffalo, New York, where he sat by his trusty boom-box and recorded Def Leppard, Run D.M.C. and Richard Marx off the radio.

Trading in the boom-box for a microphone, he spent several years in 1990s at Bowling Green State University, mostly in the offices of WFAL Falcon Radio, the campus alternative rock station.

While at WFAL, Tim met fellow music obsessives and was asked to join their short-lived band. A move to Columbus post-college led to a new band, which released several poorly selling efforts and eventually broke up after eight years and plenty of self-inflicted debt.

Following mortgage, marriages, kids and several years of musical dormancy, in 2011 Tim and co-host/former bandmate J Dziak started the Dig Me Out Podcast, revisiting their college music days one obscure album a week. At the same time, the outlining and eventual first draft of "Power Ballad" was written.

The Power Ballad Podcast launched in January 2013. The book was released on April 30th, 2013.
